New Year's Eve - Day 223

Tonight LSP was singing "Old MacDonald."  It goes like this: "Old MacDonald had a farm, and on my farm he is a pig..." etc.  Love the misheard lyrics.

She has a mind like a steel trap, it amazes me everyday.  Twice today she remembered things I had mentioned briefly, one was three weeks ago!  It's truly astounding.

Two days ago she told me, "I miss my friends."  "Like who?"  I asked.  "Like J," she told me.  So today LSP and J got to play together for a long time.

Is it apple crisp or is it face cream?

I seem to have lots of photos of LSP and J eating together.

Happy New Year's Party at H's house.

Day for Me - Day 222

I got to have a real grown-up day today and went into the city to hang out with Uncle M and Aunt L.  We shopped and ate and shopped some more then ate then did a little more shopping.  It was totally fun and spoiled the heck out of me!  I think I need a day like that at least once a week, though my wallet and my waistline wouldn't be able to stand it.

LSP had a fun day too.  Grampy and Nana and Nanny took her to lunch then to the mall to play.  She had a great time and when I got home she was thrilled to see me and a happy little girl.  In other big news she used the potty again today and when I got home and she told me she insisted we do the "potty dance."

Loving - Day 221

My high school/college friend L and her daughter A visited us here today.  LSP was thrilled - she loves older kids and 8-year-old A is so patient with her.  Also they came bearing gifts: an entire bag full of Bob the Builder toys.  Yes!  It's like Christmas all over again.

Tonight as we got ready for bed I said to her, as I always do, "Mommy loves you, and Daddy loves you, very. very much."  Tonight she snuggled down into my arms and said back to me, "I love you."  Absolutely perfect.

Check out her CUTE dress!  Aunt L made it for her.  IT has Curious George on one side and it reverses to Hello Kitty on the other.  Fabulous!!

Day Out - Day 220

We've been stuck in the house for two days so today we ventured out to take LSP to an indoor playground and then to one of her favorite places, the mall.  She had a blast in the bookstore, running around the kids' section and looking at all of the books.  She's a book lover just like Mommy and Daddy!  For lunch we went to a local place where she got to have pancakes.  Mmmmm!  Breakfast for lunch, always a good thing.  Tonight two Bob the Builder toys we ordered before Christmas finally arrived so she got to have a late Christmas gift.  She fell in love with them right away and carried them around the house for the rest of the night.

Victory Dance - Day 219

We have been quietly encouraging potty training but LSP is opposed to the idea.  Tonight, though, she peed on the potty - just a little, but she was overjoyed.  We all cheered and clapped and she danced around the living room in her diaper with her hand held high, then rushed to claim her gummi worms and plastic bracelet.  Is there anything cuter than a smiling toddler doing the potty dance?  I don't think so.

The dogs LOVE to ride in the truck while Grampy take the trash to the curb.  Nothing better!

Lazy Day - Day 218

LSP came downstairs this morning, ran into the living room, looked at the tree and said, "Where are my presents?"

She was pretty low key all day.  A bit of Christmas recovery for everyone.  She had such a great time playing with her new toys that she never even got out of her PJs all day.  Tonight I gave her a bath and put her in a fresh pair.  Maybe tomorrow we'll get around to getting dressed.

She got into Nana's stamp pads and gave herself a little red lipstain.

Merry Christmas - Day 217

What a day!  This morning LSP came downstairs to gifts and stockings stuffed and she was so excited and surprised!  Her first gift was a giant Tonka firetruck and she loved it right away.  Then she got to empty her stocking and she had a blast pulling the toys out one by one.  For the next few hours we all opened gifts.  Whoever said that toddlers tired of gift opening after a couple of gifts never met my kid.   When we were all done we prepared to go to Nanny and Papa's house and before we left we caught Daddy on Skype!  We were so happy and surprised to get to see him on Christmas Day!  Yeah!  I did not expect to be able to do that.  After talking with Daddy awhile we went to Christmas #2 where LSP got to open even more gifts.  She was in heaven.  After spending some time there we returned to Nana and Grampy's house and on the way she asked, "Open more gifts?"  She was hoping the fun would never end!

Tonight we had a huge and fun Christmas dinner here with 13 people around the table.  LSP was so happy to see everyone.  As we headed to bed she asked me, "Santa come fill my stocking again?"  Next year, little one.
Her first look at the tree with all the gifts.

Wow!  Santa left a firetruck!

She spots the stockings!

See that Kit Kat?  That's what she had for breakfast.

Hugging the panda bear toy from her stocking.

Now she's everywhere taking photos!

Christmas dress from Nanny!

Train set from Papa.
