Always Thinking - Day 181

LSP and I met my friend K and her son A at the playground today.  A is two years older than LSP, but they played together very well.  In fact, for the first time I saw LSP playing WITH another kid at the playground, instead of just playing near them.  Is this the transition from parallel play of just because A is so much older?  After A left LSP found a group of high school girls and inserted herself in the middle of them.  One really liked her and followed her all around while LSP chatted away and showed her things.  When the older girls left, LSP's friend made sure to come say good-bye to her.  See, not all teenagers are horrid!  There is hope!

Conversation today:
"I'm eating lunch.  Daddy eats lunch."  (We have a book that lists the things Daddy is doing on deployment that are the same as the child, such as eating lunch.)
"Yes, Daddy eats lunch too."
"Caillou has a Daddy."  (Favorite TV character.) "Caillou's Daddy goes to work."
"Your Daddy goes to work, too.  But when he goes to work sometimes he goes away to Afghanistan for a long time."
(Thinks for awhile.) "But Mommy's here!"
"Yes, Mommy is here when Daddy is away."
(Thinks for a long while.)  "I miss Daddy."

A and LSP yell into the speaker.

The playground has a little issue with static.  Can you tell?

She held the Play Doh on her face and said, I'm a clown!  Then she insisted on doing it to one of her teddy bears.

She was wearing her tiger hat and roaring really loudly.  Of course she stopped as soon as I tried to take a video.
