Goat Giggles - Day 129

The sun was out today, so LSP and I went to a little petting zoo about 30 minutes away.  She raced all around checking out the animals.  Her favorites were the rabbits and the goats.  The goats were used to being fed corn, and we did not have the right change for the corn machine so we couldn't feed them.  That didn't stop them from nosing us and bumping us all over.  LSP was thrilled, giggling her head off at all the goats coming up to her.  After spending some time in the goat pen she yelled, "I smell something!"  I told her yes, it was goats she was smelling so then she proceeded to yell, "I smell goats!  I smell goats!"  Even more than the animals, though, she liked the little stream that ran through the zoo.  She especially loved throwing rocks in the stream.  "Like Grampy!" she said, remembering how he showed her how to skip rocks at the beach.
Check out how she has her animals lined up on the sofa.

She is giggling her head off here.

Swimming Day - Day 128

Not the best photo of LSP - but check out the cute hat!

Really, they were happy to be there - just not so happy we were making them pose for a picture.

We met my friend J, her mom and her 1-year-old daughter A at the pool this afternoon for some swimming.  LSP was beyond excited.  Even tough we have not been to this pool in a long time, she took one look at the building from the outside and knew just where we were.  She had a blast, jumping all over the kiddie pool, going down the kiddie pool slide, sitting in the hot tubs and even went down the BIG water slide with me once.

We went with two pony tails again today, and at the self-help store the people working there we all a-twitter about her cuteness.  "Suess Maus!" (Sweet mouse) one woman said, and even the man behind the counter agreed.

Monkey - Day 127

Today LSP announced, "I'm a good little monkey!"  Which is totally true, but is yet another sign we are watching WAY too much Curious George.  We did two ponytails again today and she got all sorts of attention from the folks in the CMR and the cashiers and baggers in the commissary.  Take note, two ponytails is the path to super-cuteness!

Explosion - Day 126

I am not the world's perfect housekeeper.  This is not a secret.  But today in a fit of neatness I decided to clean the fridge.  I took the plastic drawers and the glass shelf out of the bottom of the fridge and let them sit out awhile while I cleaned the rest.  Then I put the shelf in the sink to clean.  It EXPLODED.  And I do mean exploded.  It sounded like a gun shot. it shattered into a million pieces and they flew everywhere.  I felt them hit my front, my glasses.  LSP was standing only a few feet away and I shrieked and turned to her right away.  There she stood amongst the broken glass, she was totally fine except scared out of her wits.  Neither of us had on shoes and my clothes were covered with a fine glass dust.  She listened to me well and stood totally still while I stripped off my clothes and used them to step on to reach her.  I got her out of the kitchen, and stripped her clothes off, too.  She watched George while I cleaned.  I used a measuring cup to scoop the glass out of my sink and there was at least five CUPS of glass.  The floor was covered too.  What in incredible mess.  Thank God we were both OK.

The rest of the day was much less eventful.  We played, we colored, we went to the park.  A quiet Sunday in Germany.

Good Girl - Day 125

I have to start off saying that my little girl was SO GOOD today!  I dragged her all around creation in the pouring rain, made her ride in the stroller, in and out of the car seat a million times, and she was as good as gold!  (I know that by saying this she will be bonkers tomorrow!)

First we went to a bazaar at a nearby post and looked around.  They also had a super indoor play structure there and she had a blast on that.  Then we went, in the pouring rain, into the downtown to run a quick errand, and LSP came along with no fighting, no complaints, nothing!  Fabulous!  She did want to try to pick up the cobblestones off the street as we stood there in the rain - not a good idea!

Tonight at home she decided to feed one of her bears dinner.  We had to strap him in the highchair and give him cereal and milk with a spoon.  No imaginary food for this bear!  Then she walked around hugging him.  Very sweet.

Another Fair - Day 124

Great start to the day when, due to a blunder, I put in a contact lens that had been soaking in non-neutralized solution into my eye.  Basically this means I put hydrogen peroxide directly into my let eye.  I said a whole lot of the words that George Carlin says you can't say on TV.  Talk about PAIN.  Ten minutes of eye rinsing later and I am still left with a sore eyeball.  As I stood over the sink running water into my eye, LSP crept up to me and said, "Are you OK?"  It was very sweet.

This afternoon one of the local military units had a small "partnership fest" in our neighborhood with some neighboring towns.  LSP took one look at it out the car window and declared, "Wanna go fair!  Wanna go horsey ride!" I told her there was no horsey ride but we could go see a tank.  We saw the tank, and she jumped in a couple of jumpy houses, and played with a beanbag toss game.  Then off to the side I saw they were indeed giving horsey rides!  Made a liar out of me.  The line was forever long, though, so we had to opt out.  Other places to go!

Eating Out - Day 123

This morning LSP and I had breakfast out with a bunch of ladies from my neighborhood. LSP did pretty well considering I scooped her up right after she woke and stuffed her in the car!

Then for dinner I could not stand the thought of another evening dining with Curious George so we went and had dinner at the PX food court. After dinner I let her play on the little quarter-rides in front of the store, then we went inside and had out photo taken in the passport photo booth. It's make your own fun at the PX!

Adorable - Day 122

She spun around and around then staggered off drunkenly, laughing. Then she wanted to do it again.

It sounds silly, but I always imagined that if I had a little girl I'd do her hair in two pigtails that stuck out the sides. Well, LSP's hair is finally long enough to do that so today we went with the two-pigtail look. She got several complients on her cuteness. One female soldier behind us in line at the commissary said, "She's adorable, Ma'am." (I'll never get used to the "ma'am" thing, by the way.) On the way out to the car I told her "adorable" meant "very, very cute" and asked her if she was adorable. She smiled really big and yelled "I'm adorable! I'm adorable!" Then as I was putting her in her car seat she gave me a big hug and said, "Momma's adorable!" How great is that?

Outside Day - Day 121

Just to make Daddy cringe....

She found a couple of used up inkjets. I was surprised at how easily the ink all came off.

Today was a warm and beautiful day here. We spent a good chunk of it outside - running, playing in the park, playing with sidewalk chalk. In the park LSP and I lay on our backs in the grass and looked at the sky. She tried to convince me the sky was white. Not today, little one!

I also made some cake balls for a friend who needed them for an event. It was my first attempt and they were not super pretty, but they tasted good. Next time we'll go for more aesthetically pleasing cake balls. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture.

After making the cake balls I did something that I have not done in awhile. I detailed my stand mixer. I know you all are jealous of my glamorous European lifestyle.
