Zoo Time - Day 150

Really?  We're at Day 150?  Hmmm...

Today Grampy and I took LSP to the zoo.  Nana wasn't feeling well so she stayed at home.  The zoo in our area is not a well known one, and we could see why.  It was pretty small and a lot of the exhibits were closed for the season or for lack of funding.  It was the most uncrowded zoos I have ever seen, really just a handful of people there, and just about everyone had a kid and a stroller.  We did get some really great views of a huge male lion who was lying right next to the enclosure glass.  That was pretty cool.  For her part, LSP was most fascinated with... the rocks on the path.  And the acorns. And the waterfall in the tropical house.  She checked out the animals too.  Her favorites were....the ducks.  Ah, to be two and have everything be endlessly fascinating.

LSP has learned a new trick.  She can see what is going on on the counter if she stands on one of her little chairs from her table in the living room.  I was chopping vegetables for a salad today and she yelled, "I need a chair!" and raced into the living room to grab one and drag it into the kitchen for a better view of the salad making process.  She has also learned the fine art of playing one person off another.  When I would not allow her to jump up and down on the crib mattresses with great vigor, she wailed, "Grampy!" and ran to him hoping for another ruling.

Baby zebra!

I dressed her all in bright pink so she would be easy to find in a crowd if she slipped away...this is the size of the average crowd we saw.

She ran up to this monkey and yelled, "Hi!"

Acorns were one of the best things at the zoo!
