Stair Rules - Day 53

Today LSP and I had some more visitors. Yet another high school friend and her sweet little girl, J, came by to play. LSP and J were shy at first with each other, but warmed up and enjoyed playing on the swing set and in the sandbox, and had fun sitting in the play house and eating a large pile of bunny-shaped graham crackers together. J was a little overwhelmed here at first and got a little upset. LSP was very sweet, bringing her toys to play with, including the very precious Elmo doll. All was soon right and the girls had a fun time together.

One of LSP's bad habits is wanting to mess around on the stairs. Mostly she likes to jump on the stairs. I have told her about 1 zillion times not to jump on the stairs. Her latest thing is to go through a list of activities to see if they are allowed on the stairs: "Run on the stairs?" is usually the first question, so I keep a firm grip on her hand. "Dance on the stairs?" she asks, wiggling her hips. "Exercise on the stairs?" she says, doing squats in the middle of the staircase. "Crawl on the stairs?" often follows, but by this time I usually have managed to make her reach the bottom (or top) of the staircase. Every question is answered with , "No, we only WALK on the stairs," but that never stops her from checking to see if the rules have changed.

  1. The "walk On Stair" rule is funny. The little people are adorable.
