We Love a Parade - Day 42

Covered in cookie and wearing her new backhoe shirt.

Here comes the parade! Note the dye-free Sno-Cone.

She loved shooting the bubble gun into her own face. Not such a great idea.

The people next to us had several "I Love the USA" necklaces and LSP was fascinated. The little boy about her age gave her this one. Her first gift of jewelry from a boy!

Today I woke LSP up from her nap and said, "Do you want to go to a parade?" She said "OK!" A local town had a really nice 4th of July parade with all the small town trappings: fire engines, classic cars, high school bands, homemade floats and local politicians. LSP was fascinated with the loud fire engines ("More!" she said when they were finished), the kids playing drums and the clowns on tall bikes. Grampy got her an inflatable tiger and a bubble-blowing gun (the bubble gun was an especially big hit) and Uncle M got her a Sno-Cone. Of course she can't have artificial coloring and what is a Sno-Cone except ice with artificial flavor and color squirted on it...so LSP got a special color-and-flavorless Sno-Cone. Essentially a paper cone full of ice. She loved it. "Mmmmm...good!" she said. Easy to please. Walking back to the car she announced loudly "I liked the parade!" And we liked it too.
